Lara Croft’s original adventure is making a comeback next year.
Amazon Game Studios, Crystal Dynamics, and Flying Wild Hog have announced that Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will launch on February 12, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. The release date was revealed during Sony’s latest State of Play presentation, accompanied by a new gameplay trailer offering a fresh look at the upcoming reimagining of the 1996 classic.
The game revisits the adventure that introduced Lara Croft to players nearly three decades ago, reimagining her search for the lost secrets of Atlantis with modern visuals, updated gameplay systems, and expanded storytelling.
The newly released trailer showcases several of the environments and action sequences players can expect when the game launches next year, including familiar locations inspired by the original adventure.

The journey takes players across a variety of dangerous locations, from the jungles of Peru and the ruins of Greece to the deserts of Egypt and a mysterious island steeped in myth. Along the way, Lara will encounter ancient artifacts, hidden secrets, deadly traps, and powerful enemies guarding the path to Atlantis.
According to the developers, the story expands on the original game while creating deeper connections to Lara Croft’s future adventures. Familiar puzzles and exploration challenges return, but with new mechanics and surprises designed for modern audiences.
Players will be able to use Lara’s agility, strength, and grappling hook to traverse hazardous environments, solve ancient contraptions, and uncover secrets hidden for centuries.

Combat remains a key part of the experience, with Lara’s signature dual pistols returning alongside additional unlockable weapons. Throughout the adventure, players will face dangerous wildlife, mercenaries, and mythological creatures inspired by the original game.
One iconic encounter also makes its return. The developers specifically highlighted the legendary T-Rex battle as one of several memorable moments that have been reimagined on a larger scale.
