A globe-trotting treasure hunt, time-travel mysteries, and a creative lead with Disney Imagineering roots – LIFTED is shaping up to be one of this summer’s most intriguing indie adventures.
Developer Adventure Works has announced that its cinematic puzzle-platformer LIFTED will launch on Steam for PC on July 22, 2026. The release date was revealed during the MIX Summer Game Showcase, giving players a fresh look at the colorful worlds and movie-inspired adventure awaiting them.
Created by former Disney Imagineer Jeffrey Ashbrook, LIFTED blends platforming, exploration, and puzzle-solving into a story-driven experience that feels inspired by classic adventure films. Players step into the shoes of Ari Buktu, a student whose quest for extra credit quickly turns into an extraordinary journey through time.
Joined by the eccentric Professor Lionel Raventhorpe, Ari embarks on a race to recover a legendary lost tiara. Along the way, players will travel through different eras, uncover ancient secrets, solve environmental puzzles, and outsmart rival treasure hunters pursuing the same prize.
Disney-Inspired Storytelling
Ashbrook’s background as a Disney Imagineer is evident throughout the project. Rather than focusing on combat-heavy gameplay, LIFTED emphasizes cinematic storytelling, memorable characters and immersive environments designed to feel like interactive movie sets.
Adventure Works describes the experience as a blend of exploration, platforming, and puzzle-solving, wrapped in a lighthearted adventure filled with humor, mystery and spectacle.
A Journey Across Time
From ancient civilizations to forgotten ruins, every destination introduces new challenges and opportunities for discovery. Players will climb, swing, and navigate elaborate environments while uncovering clues tied to the game’s central mystery.
The adventure is designed as a fully single-player experience, focusing on narrative progression and handcrafted levels instead of multiplayer systems or live-service mechanics.

While PC players will get first access when LIFTED launches on Steam this July, Adventure Works has also confirmed plans for future releases on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
