The Trine 3: The Art of Power is the continuation of the highly successful video games Trine 1 and Trine 2 taking the gamer into a beautiful fantasy, fairy tale like world. The 3-rd part of the trilogy has been released just 2 days ago, on August 20th 2015.

Amadeus in the Astral Academ. Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power – an enchanted fantasy video game
Game developer has undertaken great effort to port The Art of Power into 3d environment and have to say with great success. The task was even more complicated due to huge fan base that has gathered around previous versions Trine 1 & 2.
If you are into gaming and wish to experience a fairytale world of astonishing sceneries and encounter a myriad of physics-based puzzles, marvelous contraptions, hazardous foes and enchanting creatures then this is the video game you must try out.

Trine 3 Release
Since the release, the Trine 3: The Art of Power video game received some mixed feedback though mainly for apparently to short story. Well, in comparison to the Trine 1 and Trine 2 that allowed user to play in 2D environment the game is slightly short, however with open ending. Also as it happens almost every time during the transition from 2D to 3D the are some major changes in the gameplay and some parts are often shorten or changed due to required development time and engine changes.

Lost Page Drill. Pontius in action in the Trine 3
In this case we can honestly say that Trine 3 is a truly unique, one of the kind games available on the market and therefore should be considered a successful. We feel that game deserves better rating than ‘Mostly Positive’ on Steam. These time people tend to forget how much effort and work from game devs it requires not to mention about assets (both work force and financial). Frozenbytes in it’s statement informed about budget limitations that had influence on the game lenght. The company spent $5.4 to produce the 3rd part of the Triny trilogy which is double the cost of the Trine 2. 3D game development requires way more resources than 2D so we are not surprised here.
The Story Line

Every scene and creature looks equally magical. Kippo in the Trine 3.
Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief have slowly come to the conclusion that having their lives commandeered by a powerful magical artifact is not a desirable state of existence on a permanent basis.
Fortunately among the moaning and ignorant comments there are some people who can appreciate good game and enjoy it instead of paying of attention to minor details that have been changed / removed or gameplay altogether. As a gamers ourselves we have played many titles from bigger brands that overload the budget and in our opinion are overpriced and barely any one complains. Whereas with ‘indie game developer’ – not sure wheter we still should call the Finnish gamedev studio this way – they expect more.
Trine 3 Rating

Pontius at the sunset. Pontius is heavy and strong chappy, one of the 3 characters characters you will be playing in Trine 3
In summary Trine 3 is a really good game settled in the fantasy – fairy tale world that can be enjoyable, although we may wish it to be a little longer. The game has been released for Windows platform on Steam at the moment, whereas for Mac & Linux operating systems it will be available a little bit later this year – in October 2015.
